Judging: Their will be two separate judging panels, one for mens/women’s and another for logger division, both of which will have judges replay.

Men’s/Women’s Pro Judging Criteria:

The surfer must perform controlled maneuvers in the most critical section of the wave utilizing the entire board and wave face. The surfer who performs this to the highest degree of difficulty with style, speed, power and flow will be rewarded with the highest score. Further to the above, the following are key aspects the judges look for: Footwork, Variety of Maneuvers, Commitment, Control, Noseriding, Positioning to Critical Section, Completeness of Maneuver and Railwork.

Logger Judging Criteria

The surfer must perform a variety of traditional longboard maneuvers in the critical sections of the wave with continual motion, style and grace. The surfer must display uninterrupted flow with control of the surfboard with emphasis on creativity and the linking of maneuvers over the entire duration of the ride. The surfer who performs to the criteria above, exhibiting the maximum degree of difficulty and commitment on the waves shall maximize his/her scoring potential.

Food: We will have a coffee bar and snacks in the morning. Lunch will be catered by Wabi Sushi with an incredible menu, something for everyone! This will be served onsite in the competitor tent from 11:00-3:00. Water, organic juices and snacks will be available all day.

Water Patrol: As you know Malibu is a tough place to keep clear during any swell, we have Alan Sarlo and team in place to keep people out (they will be wearing bright orange WP jerseys), however they will be riding few waves when competitors are finishing rides or in between heats.

PARKING: Unfortunately we do not have competitor parking so you are on your own for parking.
