MODERN +
              CLASSIC

Our aim is to unite the Longboard surfing community worldwide and build a sustainable competitive platform for all disciplines of Longboard Surfing. Our goal is to perpetuate the growth of Modern Longboarding as well as honoring the masters of Traditional Logging and Style.

It is this vision that inspired us to hold this ground breaking event at one of the worlds most iconic Longboarding locations, First Point, Malibu. We hope this event will be the next chapter in the history of Surfrider Beach.

Invited Surfers were selected for specific divisions based on their 2016 Professional results, both on international and regional stages. We are honored these surfers will be representing Australia, South Africa, Peru, Brazil, France, Japan and the US, collectively holding 9 World Championships and 12 World titles.

The Modern Pro Division will be complemented by an equally impressive line-up of sixteen Traditional Loggers who have been standout competitors. These mavericks of style continue to perpetuate the art of surfing and have been influential in enriching the longboard community by honoring tradition and authenticity.
